Course Description

Negotiation is an important skill in nearly every area of legal practice, including corporate transactions, litigation, mediation, regulatory compliance, criminal cases, mediation, and more. In this course, students will learn negotiation theories and techniques, and they will apply them to legal situations. Classes will include discussions, lectures, and role plays or simulations where students will conduct negotiations. Students will have reading assignments and weekly assessments of the reading and lectures.

Written Work Product

Students will prepare weekly assimilation assignments, participate in exercises/role plays/simulations, and submit a final project (due directly to the instructor, not via EXPO).
