Course Description

This short course will provide an overview of business law in the European Union highlighting important points for an investor from the USA. Topics will include: Reasons to invest in Europe; characteristics of the EU (a plurality of different cultures; a step by step construction); advantages of the European single market (free movement of persons, goods, services and capital); setting-up a company and using the freedom of establishment in the EU; acquiring a company in the EU (cross-border mergers and acquisitions; and management of a company in the EU taking into account differences in national cultures).
